解决1604的错误的方法：
1、确保刷机步骤没错
2、确保数据线是直接接在主板的USB口上，而不是机箱前置或其他HUB上，如果有条件，最好用DOCK连接
3、确保是在按住HOME+POWER键后10秒左右松开POWER键，等待ITUNE自动启动，提示恢复，然后选择自定义固件。
做到以上3步，绝对不会出现1604错误

刷机成功（美版有锁，41周前）
方法将手机接上数据线,暂不与电脑连接.
手机关机后,按住HOME键,数据线接上电脑,等待出现USB那个图标出现
然后放开,打开ITUNES,等待提示有一个需要恢复的IPHONE.
这个时候按抓电脑上的SHIFT键不放,然后鼠标点ITUNES里的恢复.即可自己选取固件..选择好你下载下来的固件,等待提示..

anyway, here is what you need:
1. get a patched ios4 firmware, here is how to get it:
    a. if you have a mac, go download pwnagetool 4.01 at the the following site
         http://blog.iphone-dev.org/
        and then download 3gs official firmware at：
http://appldnld.apple.com.edgesuite.net/content.info.apple.com/iPhone4/061-7437.20100621.5urG8/iPhone2,1_4.0_8A293_Restore.ipsw
and then use the pwnagetool to make a patched firmware.
   b. if you don’t have a mac, you need to search on the internet to find a patched firmware.
2. put your phone in dfu mode. google this procedure. note that recovery mode is not dfu mode.

3. in itunes, when it detects an iphone in recovery mode (the phone is in dfu mode, but itunes will say recovery mode),
if in windows: shift+click on the restore button, an window will pop up and you need to locate your patched firmware. After that, wait, and it should work.
if in Mac, you need option + restore.
4. u need iTunes 9.2
